IndonesiaMUN 2012

Indonesia Model United Nations (IndonesiaMUN) is the premier varsity level Model United Nations in Indonesia. IndonesiaMUN was first established to provide a room for students to practice their skills in diplomacy and negotiation, thus they can bring about change by learning beyond the classroom’s walls. Through IndonesiaMUN, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Indonesia is providing an avenue for varsity students to practice skills needed to express their ideas and negotiate in a competitive environment. The first IndonesiaMUN which was conducted in 2010, succeeded in bringing 182 participants from all over ASEAN including Indonesia to join the conference in 3 different committees. The second IndonesiaMUN which held in 2011 had vision in expanding the quantity as well as increasing the quality and ended with 266 participants with 5 committees.

This year, IndonesiaMUN will have its third conference which will be held 2-6 October 2012 in Universitas Indonesia, Depok and we are proud to announce that we expand to 6 committees which consist of 2 United Nations Councils, 2 Regional Forums, 1 Historical Council, and 1 Special Committee. This year theme is “Fostering People, Securing Nations” and IndonesiaMUN 2012 welcomes more than 300 talented students from renowned universities all over the world to join the conference and formulate solutions for historical, current, and futuristic issues. Every committee will be guided by credible board of dais which have experienced and won in International MUN worldwide namely The European International Model United Nations 2011 (TEIMUN), Emirates International Model United Nations 2010 (EMIMUN), and Hongkong Model United Nations Conference 2012 (HKMUNC).

Asia-Pacific International Model United Nations

APMUN Description

Asia-Pacific International MUN (APMUN) is established as the first and unique Regional Model among all the other existing university-level MUNs in Asia. It aims to gather students from the five continents offering a higher-level atrium of confrontation and debate between culturally-diverse leaders, with the UN building as backdrop. Therefore, APMUN represents the culmination of the efforts of our Institution to bring together a worldwide qualified student body.

APMUN arises from the experience by ASEAN Regional Center of Excellence on Millennium Development Goals (ARCMDG) in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and its 50-year academic experience of excellence.

AIT is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, and it is a quintessentially international institution of engineering and technology, environmental resources and development, and management, dedicated to world-class higher learning with an Asian perspective. AIT is the first and only Institute of higher learning of its type granted with an International Intergovernmental Organization status. Moreover, it has been designated by the United Nations Secretary-General H.E. Ban Ki-Moon as the permanent site of the world’s first Regional Centre of Excellence on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), dedicated to the promotion and achievement of the MDGs in South-East Asia through education and training.

Asia-Pacific International MUN is an exclusive five-day simulation for university/college students hosted annually in Bangkok in collaboration with UN Regional Headquarters and various governmental institutions. 

Please read carefully the following instructions that can help you in the application process.

• The registration for APMUN can be done by single students who want to attend individually and by Universities/MUN Clubs/MUN Associations, which will take care of the participation of an entire Delegation. However, priority will be given to Universities/MUN Clubs/MUN Associations. 

• To apply for APMUN 2012 the regular deadline is June 20^th 2012. All applications received by the deadline will be guaranteed a delegation at APMUN 2012.  Registrations will still be accepted after this date, but on a space-available basis.

The conference is quickly filling up, so apply as soon as possible in order to secure a "placement".

• Universities/MUN Clubs/MUN Associations should indicate an estimate of the number of student delegates to attend.

• Country assignments will be posted on our website on July 1^st .
• The registration fee is not refundable, unless any country will be assigned.
• Any decrease in the delegation number should be communicated byUniversities/MUN Clubs/MUN Associations. Moreover, they have to keep in mind that additional delegates may be added as long as the country assignments have available committees. See committee matrix for maximum delegation size for each assignment.

In order to be eligible for country and committee assignment is necessary to make the registration payment.

So, after sending the registration form, please make the payment within two weeks. If you register near the 20 June deadline, please be aware that the payment should be made by the 20 June.

The payment receipt should be sent to: finance@asiapacificmun.org with indicated your name.
