Look Around Indonesia (LAR) kembali membuka Open Recruitment bagi kalian yang tertarik untuk menjadi Staff LAR. Syaratnya, apabila kalian muda (pelajar, mahasiswa), berdomisili di Jabodetabekmemiliki komitmen untuk mengikuti rapat serta kegiatan LAR, ini kesempatan kalian untuk menjadi bagian dari kepanitiaan LAR!

Merasa komunikatif, supel dan ramah sama orang? Kalo iya, disini nih tempat kalian. Publication selain kebagian promosiin kegiatan LAR, nanti bakal berhubungan sama orang, sama bakal jadi orang yang ada dibalik social media LAR
3. Media/Parnership
Merasa punya link banyak? Gabung aja di divisi ini! Tugasnya menjalin hubungan dengan media untuk menyebarkan semangat kegiatan LAR ke anak muda lain! Selain itu, kalo ada yang mau kerjasama sama LAR juga bakal berhubungan sama kalian..
4. Volunteers
Punya keinginan untuk ngurusin Community Service LAR yang diadakan setiap bulannya? Gabung di divisi ini gak bakal salah deh! Kalian juga bakal banyak berhubungan sama Volunteer yang terdaftar buat ngabarin acara Community Service!
5. Fundraising
Merasa jago wirausaha dan punya ide yang unik untuk jualan? Kalo iya, jangan ragu daftar di divisi ini! Divisi ini bertugas mencari dana untuk event LAR.
6. Kreatif
Jago Photoshop dan ngedesain? Yuk, daftar di divisi ini Tugasnya tentu aja ngedesain berbagai macam hal kayak poster, merchandise dan lain sebagainya. Bagi yang berminat di divisi ini, jangan lupa sertakan contoh desain terbaik kalian, diutamakan materi promosi seperti poster (2-3 buah)
7. Logistik
Mengurus perlengkapan, konsumsi kalo ada event, akomodasi, serta produksi merchandise nah ini urusannnya divisi yang satu ini!
8. Dokumentasi
Punya kamera SLR dan merasa kalo fotografi adalah passion kalian? Divisi ini cocok buat kalian yang pengen membidik momen-momen di event LAR. Bagi yang berminat di divisi ini, jangan lupa sertakan contoh foto terbaik kalian (2-3 buah)

The qualifications of the Intern position are:

1. Bachelor’s degree or university student entering their final year of study in Social Science, Information Technology, or other related fields. (Recent graduates are welcome.)
2. Two years’ professional experience working in youth-related issues.
3. Strong social media skills.
4. Strong organizational skills and good team player, with a flexible working approach.
5. Ability to liaise and affiliate with differently structured organizations at the national, regional, and international levels, such as: governments, donor agencies, UN agencies, and NGOs.
6. Strong personnel management experience and proven ability to work well in a cross-cultural team and environment.
7. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written English.
8. Ability to work under pressure and travel frequently.
9. Willing to commit for UNFPA duties until end of December 2012.

Photo Contest: UN Plus 2013 Calendar


UN Plus is holding a photo contest as part of the process to create its 2013 Calendar. All UN staff including fixed-term staff, staff on temporary assignments, consultants, fellows and interns are encouraged to send us their photographs under the theme of Access to Healthcare for All.Images need not be limited to HIV and could, for instance, include conditions such as diabetes or cancer.
The winning photos will be used for the 2013 UN Plus Calendar and also featured in an exhibition that is planned towards the end of this year at the UNAIDS Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Please see Prize for more details.
Eligibility: UN staff – including fixed term staff, staff on temporary assignments, consultants, fellows and interns.
Submission Deadline: August 26 2012, Midnight (Central European Time)
Photo Requirements: High-Resolution – Must be RGB, JPEG images 300 dpi or higher.
Submission Requirements: The photos must be submitted to UN Plus at unplus@unaids.org as attachments by deadline with the subject line: UN Plus Photo Contest (max. 2 photos per contestant)
The following information MUST accompany the photograph to be eligible for entry:
  1. Photographer’s name
  2. Contact email address of person submitting photograph.
  3. UN Organization
  4. Photo Caption indicating who is in the photo (if there is anybody), what they were doing, where photo was taken and approximate date of photo.
  5. Title of the photograph (if any)
  6. Signed model release form if the photograph includes a recognizable face of a person. (If the model is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the release). A copy of the model release form UN Plus Photo Release Form.
By submitting photos, submitting person acknowledges that: Photographer/copyright holder has released photo for use by UN Plus and UNAIDS.
Choosing the Winners
Once the deadline for applications has passed (Aug 26), the eligible photos will be uploaded to a contest page for public voting (NB: URL for the public voting page will be communicated on the UN Plus website and the UN Plus Facebook page on August 27) and it will be possible to vote for your preferred images. Voting will take place over a 21 day period and will be open to the public, so don’t hesitate to invite your friends (even non-UN staff) to vote. Please note that only those photographs that meet the above-mentioned requirements will be uploaded for the online voting.
After the 21 days of voting, a shortlist consisting of the 30 photographs with the most votes will be submitted to a jury of 3 independent photographers, who will make the final selection. These photographs will be judged on their artistic value and relevance to the theme of the contest.
Prize:
  • Winning photos will be used for the 2013 UN Plus Calendar, which will be distributed widely worldwide, within and outside of the UN system.
  • Winning photos will be featured in an exhibition at the UNAIDS Headquarters in Geneva, as well as on a dedicated online gallery.
  • Winning photographers will be credited in the calendar.
  • Winning photographers will receive 10 copies of the calendar.
And remember the theme: Access to Healthcare for All (not limited to HIV).

Internship opportunity: UNEP Major Groups and Stakeholders Branch


Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Duration: 3-6 months, starting from September 2012

The Major Groups and Stakeholders Branch (MGSB) of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is offering an internship placement in its global office in Nairobi, Kenya. The office coordinates and promotes public participation in the work of UNEP and implements the strategy on civil society engagement in UNEP. It builds capacity of major groups and stakeholders, maintains a database and website, and promotes regional cooperation and networking with and among major groups and stakeholders. In the fall of 2012 most of the work is focused on Rio+20 follow-up and preparations for the UNEP Governing Council. As an intern you will be asked to support the branch in its daily work, assist in preparations of events, and conduct research and analysis as needed.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must be a currently enrolled university student, in a third or fourth year of under-graduate (BA/BSc.) or in a graduate (Masters) or post-graduate (Ph D) programme, and continue to be enrolled during the period of the internship and after. You must submit a letter of recommendation from your university, stating that you are currently enrolled and your expected date of graduation. You must be willing to intern on a full-time basis, spending five days a week for a period of not less than 3 months and not exceeding 6 months. 

Qualifications and Experience

- Ability to work in a team
- Excellent writing skills and oral communication
- Research and analytic skills 
- Fluency in English is required, knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage
- Studies in Environmental Policy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations, Mass Communication, or other relevant field
- Ethical and responsible work practices

The Millennium Campus Conference is presented by The Millennium Campus Network. MCC is a conference focused on student organizing around the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. Festival Film Anak-Anak Internasional Asia 2012

Deadline: August 15, 2012

Pihak HelloFest menjadi partner dengan kedutaan Jepang di Indonesia untuk kurasi film dari anak-anak Indonesia dan diikutsertakan dalam "Festival Film Internasional Anak Asia" yang diselenggarakan oleh Pemda Prefektur Hyogo, bekerja sama dengan Kementerian Luar Negeri Jepang. Festival ini akan melombakan film pendek hasil karya anak-anak Asia dengan durasi 2-3 menit. Dimana karya yang akan diajukan untuk mengikuti festival film tersebut paling lambat diterima oleh panitia Hellofest tanggal 15 Agustus 2012.
Bagi para peserta yang hasil karyanya terpilih untuk diajukan dalam tahap FINAL SELECTION di Minami Awaji, Hyogo Ken, akan diundang berkunjung ke Jepang pada akhir November 2012 (selama 4 hari 3 malam) untuk sekaligus mengunjungi daerah-daerah yang terkena gempa dan tsunami pada 11 Maret 2011
Berikut adalah informasi syarat-syarat mengikuti Festival Film Anak-Anak Internasional Asia :
1. Tema Karya :
Tema tahun 2012 adalah “Kehidupan menurut Anda”.

2. Standar penjurian :
  • Festival Film ini memberikan penilaian kepada karya yang memiliki “kekuatan menyerukan” isi hati anak dan menjadi tujuan utama karya tersebut
  • Karya anak SMP harus merupakan karya unggulan yang memiliki kekuatan ekspresi dan tema (tema apa yang diangkat)
  • Karya anak SMA harus merupakan karya unggulan yang memiliki kekuatan di atas ditambah kekuatan tehnik, kekuatan akting, pekerjaan kamera dll yang dikerjakan oleh sebagian besar anak SMA.
(1) Standar penjurian utama adalah karya yang “dengan baik memotret dan mengeluarkan apa yang ada di dalam hati”.
(2) Kemudian standar penjurian terhadap camera man, sutradara dan aktor yang dibawakan oleh anak-anak.
※ Saran sederhana dari orang dewasa dapat menjadi sesuatu yang mengurangi penilaian pada saat penjurian.
※ Karya yang menyampaikan isi hati anak-anak dengan jujur merupakan “karya yang baik”.

3. Lomba Internasional :
* Penghargaan  Presiden Honoris Sugi Ryotaro                   1 orang
* Penghargaan Menteri Hukum                                             1 orang
* Penghargaan Menteri Luar Negeri                                     1 orang

* Karya berdurasi 3 menit yang direkam dengan home video dan belum pernah dipublikasikan.
* Setiap satu produser (1 grup) mendaftar untuk 1 karya (boleh individu)
* Materi dalam bentuk DVD (Film dengan ukuran PAL/DV 720 x 576 mov/avi, kami tidak menerima format lain diluar ini)

About the Conference

Based in the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau for Education in Bangkok, Thailand, the Asia-Pacific Programme of Educational Innovation for Development (APEID) has organized a series of international conferences since 1995 to provide a forum for policy dialogue, and information and knowledge sharing on development-oriented education innovations and exemplary practices in and beyond the Asia-Pacific region.
This year, the objectives of the 16th UNESCO-APEID International Conference are to:
  • Increase understanding and knowledge of the concept of learning in general, and learning to live together in particular;
  • Showcase and promote innovative and educational approaches, projects and practices that enhance learning to live together;
  • Encourage national, regional and global collaboration across all sectors and levels to improve learning to live together; and
  • Facilitate networking and exchange of experiences among policy makers, researchers, educators, administrators, youth and private sector personnel.
Eminent speakers and paper presenters will share their rich experiences in linking theory to practice. Rhodes Youth Forum 2012

From September 28th to October 1st, 2012 the Rhodes Island will host the Youth Forum for the third time. More than 100 young people interested in active participation in public life, concerned about the current challenges to humanity, tended to fulfillment by implementing social projects and their personal intellectual efforts.
Holding this event we, all the participants of the International Youth Time Movement, want to focus your attention on the problems which are threatening to prosperity of the present civilization and to the coming generations. They are:
  1. Education. Educational system requires new approaches able to preserve and multiply human capital which is one of the key resources for development of the present and future society.
  2. Employment barriers. It is necessary to elaborate mechanisms for the effective integration of the youth into the labour market. We are seeking ways for full integration of the young people in life and the most important international projects.
  3. Loss of traditional values, especially the family ones, together with spirituality and heritage of the past generations.
  4. Obstacles which youth faces on their way to active participation in public life. We need effective mechanisms of youth participation. Young people need to assume responsibility for their future, for their parents, friends, intimate community, country and civilization. Obstacles on the way of youth formation as self-sufficient and independent social force are preventing from successful social development.
  5. Obstacle in the intercultural communication. Developed infrastructure and communication technologies have made this world small. We are standing on the stage of global thinking formation and new type intellect, which is not limited by the stereotypes of the country or culture.
  6. Hurdles in the intertemporal interaction and dealing with future. Modern fast changing world with its complexity requires new approaches in dealing with future. Taking actions today we should realize how it corresponds to what will happen in 5, 10 or 20 years. This is the way to develop modern and competitive thinking.
International Youth Time Movement unites young leaders tended to proactive behavior (not just in word but in deed). Therefore development and presentation of the project is the key condition for participation. Young leaders will get the opportunity for support from the Rhodes Youth Forum partners. Youth Time Intellectual Сlub will provide most viable projects with professional and expert consulting.
Fields of projects:
  1. Infrastructure (as formation of new possibilities and improving quality of life)
  2. Intercultural social projects
  3. Education, social, volunteering initiatives
  4. Media projects
We are inviting talented young social project coordinators, young intellectuals, researchers and experts in the relevant fields to join us.

First step
Submit your CV, application form and brief of the project (with video or presentation) before August, 1st 2012 to our e-mail:info@rhodesyouthforum.org.
We will publish them on our website. Comments from the Youth Time community and wider audience will be collected through our e-mail:info@rhodesyouthforum.org.
Detailed description of the project should be sent before August, 15 2012.
Second step
Results of the selection process is expected to be published before August, 15th 2012. Most prominent and interesting projects will be published on our website. Participants will be able to join the work team of one of the projects. Throughout the selection process, personal and professional qualities will be taken into consideration.
Third step
Presentation of your project on the 3rd Rhodes Youth Forum which will take place on the Rhodes island (Greece) from September 28th to October 1st. Conference fee for the participants - 20 euros. Please, follow the news on our website and on our facebook group as well.
Accommodation costs are covered by the organizers. Travel scholarships are available for selected participants.

NB. Please note that full set of documents should be sent to info@rhodesyouthforum.org before August,1st 2012. The subject of your letter should be as following: Application for the RYF 2012_Surname_Name. All the attached documents should be named the same way, e.g. CV_Surname_name.

Asian Conference on Media and Mass Communication 2012

Deadline: August 1, 2012

The International Academic Forum, in conjunction with its global partners, is pleased to announce the Third Annual Asian Conference on Media and Mass Communication 2012, to be held in Osaka, Japan, from 2-4 November 2012. 
The MediAsia event is a remarkable cross-cutural and interdisciplinary discussion, which encourage academics and scholars to meet and exchange ideas and views in a forum encouraging  lively but respectful dialogue. This international conference will bring together a number of university scholars working throughout Japan, Asia, and beyond to share ideas.

MediAsia 2012 will afford the opportunity for renewing old acquaintances, making new contacts, and networking across higher education. Academics working in Japan and Asia will be encouraged to forge working relationships with each other, as well as with colleagues from Europe and the US, facilitating partnerships across borders. We hope to see you (again) in Osaka in the fall.
