WHAT
Spend a week of intensive environmental leadership training in Nantong, China -- one hour from Shanghai on the Yangtze River -- with your Chinese peers and leading global environmental experts. Attend workshops about global environmental issues and innovations including such topics as: low carbon technology, climate change, building sustainable communities, new media communication skills. Site visits to local eco projects. Learn the skills to develop and implement an environmental project to bring back to your community.

WHO
High School & University students (16-22 years old) who:
-are interested in the environment and want to spend a week in China learning how to develop their own project while hearing from
international environment experts;
-would enjoy the opportunity to interact with their Chinese peers during a week of intensive leadership training

COSTS
Living costs, in-country transportation and meals in China will be covered for the duration of the Summit.
You must provide your own airfare to and from Shanghai. 

LOCATION
Near Shanghai, China in Nantong, a provincial capital which boasts a demonstration city being developed to strict environmental standards and innovations, which includes the China Singapore Sutong Science & Technology Park in the Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle.

MANAGING PARTNERS
The Government of the People’s Republic of China: National Development and Reform Commission (‘NDRC’) and Department of Climate Change
NDRC is one of the most powerful government agencies in China, exerting administrative, planning and regulatory control over the Chinese economy. The NDRC’s Department of Climate Change will host the Forum. They have all regulatory authority over activities that impact China’s environment.

iLive2Lead is a youth leadership training program based in Washington, D.C. that conducts training in various nations in each region of the world. iL2L brings the most exceptional young women leaders together for an annual International Leadership Summit. In 2011, iL2L held Young Women's International Leadership Forums in India, Kenya and France. The International Summit in the United States brought together representatives from 25 nations.

THE OPPORTUNITY
-Learn the latest in green technology and innovation
-Understand the Chinese perspective on environmental issues
-Live and learn with international students from around the world
-Interact with your Chinese student peers
-Practice the Chinese language (Summit is conducted in English)
-Learn leadership skills to develop and implement an environmental project
-SCHEDULE
Arrival: Saturday, August 11 at Shanghai (Shanghai Pudong International Airport)
- Ground transfer to Nantong will be provided
- Training program, Sunday, August 12 – Friday, August 17:
- 2 days on-site field trips
- 4 days of training by international environmental & leadership experts
Departure: Saturday, August 18 from Shanghai
